We started using tallow balms back in 2021 in an effort to clean up our skincare and ditch the toxic products we knew shouldn’t be going onto our skin and into our bodies. When we decided to start our family we knew we wanted to have a product that we loved AND that was safe enough to put on our future children. Matt made his first batch of homemade tallow in our kitchen in 2022 and he’s been whipping it up ever since! 

The balm quickly became our go-to for all of our skin ailments: dry winter skin, cracked heels, preventing pregnancy stretch marks, soothing sunburns, you name it. When our first daughter and inspiration for the company, Lumina, was born in 2023 we were amazed at how well our balm worked to resolve her many newborn skin issues from cradle cap to diaper rash. 

After a couple years of making tallow for ourselves, our family and our friends, we decided to start Tallu (tallow + Lumina) with a mission to provide high quality tallow-based products to families who are looking for skincare with clean organic ingredients they can trust. 

We are a small, woman-owned and family-run business on Cape Cod, MA. Every one of our products is handmade with care by us in small batches to ensure our customers receive only the highest quality skincare. We hope your family will love using Tallu as much as we do!
